Attachment Parenting (AP) has come into the limelight in recent years, mostly because of the work of Dr. William Sears.  His series of books and websites dedicated to the parenting style that he and his wife coined have grown, but with quite a bit of opposition from mainstream pediatricians and the independence driven American society.  Slow to catch on, but realizing the benefits of some AP techniques, Attachment Parenting is growing and the nomenclature a part of every new parent’s vocab, even if they don’t practice it.

In the coming weeks, we will have a series of posts outlining what exactly attachment parenting is and isn’t, why it is beneficial, counterarguments to the nay sayers, and how it is biologically based.  For now, though, you can explore AP by looking at Dr. Sears’ site and the Attachment Parenting International site.
