In 2004, Congress passed the Food Allergen Labeling and Consumer Protection Act.  Its goal was to provide allergic consumers the information to make healthy and smart decisions, by having foods containing the Top 8 allergens clearly labeled.  Unfortunately, manufacturers have been slow to comply and consistently fail to accurately label their products, putting the allergic public in danger.
